Feulner issues Verbeek backing

Nurnberg midfielder Markus Feulner believes Gertjan Verbeek is the right man to keep them in the Bundesliga for next season.

Having suffered three consecutive defeats, Nurnberg now find themselves in 16th place in the table ahead of a massive game for the club on Sunday. Verbeek's men take on Eintracht Frankfurt who sit just three points ahead of them in the standings and will go into the encounter on the back of a 4-1 defeat to Freiburg. Feulner has been impressed by Verbeek, who took over from Michael Wiesinger earlier this season, and the work he has done at the easyCredit Stadion and believes he has what it takes to keep Nurnberg in the top flight. "He is such a relaxed coach," Feulner told Sport1. "He looks very competent and he shows us where our weaknesses are, but also where our strengths are. "We've taken a huge step forwards under him in terms of quality."
