Köln came from a goal down to beat Bochum and seal promotion to the Bundesliga

Cologne - 1. FC Köln wrapped up the Bundesliga 2 title and promotion to Germany's top tier with a hard-fought 3-1 win over VfL Bochum 1848.

The Bundesliga 2 leaders started brightly as Kazuki Nagasawa forced a fine save out of Andreas Luthe, but it was Bochum who went in at the break in front courtesy of Danny Latza's stooping header. Marcel Risse's 50th-minute drive brought the Billy Goats back on level terms, with the game swinging firmly in the hosts' favour shortly afterwards when Jonas Acquistapace saw red for a foul on Patrick Helmes in the box. The Köln striker saw his ensuing spot-kick saved, but tucked away the follow-up, before substitute Anthony Ujah sealed the win ten minutes from time. Peter Stöger's men boast an unassailable ten-point lead over second-placed SpVgg Greuther Fürth with three rounds of fixtures remaining.Line-ups and statistics
